Asthma Study Enrolling
In asthma, white blood cells in your immune system can become overactive and damage healthy cells. This can cause inflammation in your airways, which leads to your asthma symptoms.
AJAX is a new clinical study for people with asthma. We are looking at whether an experimental treatment called AZD4606 may improve asthma symptoms and help reduce the risk of flare-ups. AZD4604 is taken using an inhaler, like other asthma medicines.
Those who qualify may receive:
- Study-related treatment at no cost.
- Study-related care from local study doctors and specialists.
- Reimbursement for time and travel.
You may qualify to participate if you:
- Are between 18 – 80 years old.
- Experienced at least 1 severe asthma attack in the past 12 months.
- Currently on a stable dose of certain inhaled therapies to manage asthma symptoms.
- Able to participate in up to 9 in-person visits at the study site over approximately 19 weeks.
Additional requirements to qualify for this study will apply. A member of the study team will discuss these with you.
What is a clinical research study?
A clinical research study tests the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication in human volunteers. Every new medication must be tested in this way before it can be used by the public. People who participate in these studies play a crucial role in helping doctors and researchers learn more about how to treat illnesses in the future.
